Wanted: Jeep Jumps Curb, Injures Officer In Newark's 2nd Precinct

Authorities in Newark on Wednesday were on the hunt for a black Jeep Cherokee that jumped a curb and struck an officer in the city's 2nd ward Tuesday night, police said.

The officer suffered an elbow injury after being struck by the late model Jeep at Ruggerio Plaza around 11:40 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said.

The Jeep is reported to be missing a portion of the right side bumper.

Police did not release further details.
